Go ahead and purchase a cheap RO unit and take it from there, you said you are going to set up a small marine aquarium somewhere down the line, Well you'll need RO water for that. That is ofcourse you dont want to pay the dealer any more money.
As above replies imply you cannot use pure RO water in aquariums it need additives and minerals to achieve this.
As for marine, you can use your RO water when mixed with the synthetic salt mixture as all the minerals etc are contained in the salt mix.
Buy a small RO unit.
