Hi everyone, just wanting to know opinions;

Back to my terrible two female bettas, (if your not familiar with the story, they recently attacked and killed 5 guppies that i introduced to my tank), i'm wanting to add two (or three) freshwater butterfly fish to my 180 liter tank. Just wondering if anyone thinks my siamese girls will attack them?? I dont want to take the risk in buying them to simply see what happens. Its just that what i know from butterfly fish, they're relatively stationary. I dont know if my girls will nip their fins?

P.s i didnt know if this was better placed in 'betta's' or oddballs, as i kinda classify butterfly fish as oddballs, they are so unfamiliar to me!! ;)

The short answer is don't mix anything nippy/aggressive with Pantodon. It's just not worth it. Pantodon are easily spooked and tricky sometimes to get settled in and feeding.

Cheers, Neale

I'm thinking the butterflies will eat your bettas eventually .................on the other hand they [ butterfly fish ] are known to jump when spooked [ mine did ] .
