Bumblebee Goby

Bumble decided to take a closer look at the filter.... The inside of it. My mum had literally just fished him out when I got home. Plus 2 emerald eye rasboras.

Cheers,
Alessa!

What filter are you using? Are they okay?

Not sure what filter it is and it's not very powerful but all 3 died plus the 2 threadfins that had also got themselves stuck to it so 5 fish lost in one day thanks a small, none powerful filter! I hate filters sometimes. He never took and interest to it before today because it's the one he had in the 5.5 gallon tank and he was find with it in there... So why in a larger tank has he suddenly took an interest to it?

Cheers,
Alessa!

I really don't know! There are no gaps big enough for him to have just swum in at leisure so he must have gone up to it and took a quick look and ended up getting sucked up or something...

Cheers,
Alessa!

It's.. mind boggling.

Is there any company name or logo on the filter??

Are you going to keep the filter fed as to not waste the good bacteria?

There's still my 6 red tail rasboras, 1 emerald eye rasbora and my female swordtail to keep the bacteria going.
I can't seem to find a name or anything.

Cheers,
Alessa!

Ah, makes sense.

And shame, it would have been interesting to research the filter see if it was a common fault.

I would have liked to do that too! I loved him and his character! He was so cute and funny! The way he just missed the baby guppies while he was chasing them round!

Alessa!

Oh well, poor little bumble.

A better filter and some new Bumblebee's for the future then?

If I ever find them again then yes and I think I'll get another sponge filter and cycle that one instead of keeping that thing, unless it's as a spare filter in my new 4ft(when I get it)

Yeah, it just seems it can't be used with such small fish, a real dissapointment. I don't know how effective it would be in the 4ft, but the extra filter media would be handy. You could leave it running in the 4ft, and whenever you want to set up a new filter you can take a bit of it's media.

That's what I was thinking. Just have it as a spare but keep it running to keep the 4ft to keep the bacteria alive.

Cheers,
Alessa!
