lots of bad press re bumble bee gobies.
Were they sold as freshwater or Brackish ?
Apparently they are brackish fish which will not survive for long in a freshwater tank.
Not stirring, just voicing what I have heard.
If nothing, it will get a debate going !!!!!
please respond

When I first started my tank I got some of those little guys. I didn't really know what I was doing and they were sold as fresh-water fish and didn't last long. I felt really bad after I did some research and realized that they should be in brackish water.

I keep my Bumblebee Gobies along with Fig8 Puffers in water near to 1.005 in SG

They are fresh AND brackish water fish. They can be maintained in either. Mine lived for over a year in freshwater, and thrived until another fish ate him (quite the oversight...).

They will survive in freshwater, they can even be found in acidic water in the wild.

As for feeding, mine ate any frozen meaty foods.

I keep the ones I have now in freshwater. No problems.

I usually cut up frozen bloodworms before feeding them. Though unchopped ones will always end up in there. Have you ever seen a 0.3" BBG hopping around the tank with an inchlong bloodworm hanging out of it's mouth?
