I have desided to make an acrylic tank for under $150. The dimensions will be 48in x 24in x 24in. About 100+ gal.
Only problem is I am not sure what thickness of acrylic should be used for this project, and what is a good bonding chemical that wont hurt fish later on?
Also should I use corner pieces or just bond the edges together?
I was thinking of using a .23in thick acrylic. I know acrylic is strong, but I dont want it to bow at all when full of water.
If any has ever done a project like this please share some information with me. ( Designs, custom filtration, etc... )
Also was thinking of putting a PVC pipe on the side near bottem for doing easier water changes and using a good Biowheel for filtration. ( I use one on my 30gal and works great. )
