Bucket To Tank Pump?

Getting the water out isn't so much the issue I don't find moving buckets its the process of getting it back in smooth enough not to disturb the plants but not take all day. The closest sink I've got is in the next room. All of these ideas are brilliant though just what I'm after

I cheat, I have a sump with a tap that leads to the drain to empty it. Water out is open a tap, water in is throw the bucket in the sump.

I'm not really familiar with how sumps work I know there kind of a filter within a smaller fish tank that's underneath the main tank?

Sump = additional tank (not always smaller) linked to the main (display) tank by way of a return pump and overflow. The sump can house equipment not wanted on show in the display tank, additional filtration, etc. and provides additional water volume.
