Bristlenose

Can anybody tell me how big a bristlenose needs to be to breed and how to tell male from female?

They completely mature around 2-2.5"
Males have alot of bristles, and females have none, and if they do they will be right on the tip of her nose.

Thank you It would seem then all of mine are mature, being around 2 -3 inches long, I have 2 males and 3 female. Sounds good.

Usually, males are territorial. If they decide to breed, watch them carefully!

One male is bigger than all of them, and has alot of bristles....the other 4 are all smaller and of similar size.

Thanks I will watch them, the lager male doesn't come out as often and when he does is for a short time, the others are not shy and come out as soon as I feed the others and hang around for a while, at least half an hour.

if the smaller males are the father the big one should give them a hard time. Mine gave my smaller male hell, till he left his eggs.
