I visited a LFS near my new work today, and they had an Albino Long-Fin Lyre-tail Bristlenose Plec. It was little (maybe an inch and a half), and very ugly-cute!
The guy at the LFS said that the albinos grow slower than regular BN, and that they stay smaller. Is this true? He said that this particular fish had been there for 3 months and that it was very healthy. The down-side is it was pretty pricey- $25. Around here a regular albino BN is about $10, and normal colored about $8.
The tank I'd like to put him in is a 29-gallon, with 7 female bettas, 5 c. mellinis (false pygmy cory - adult size about 2.5"), and an oto. The oto would likely be moved to the 20-gallon. Do I have room to add the BN?
Any feedback is appreciated. I can't decide whether to lay out the $$ or not...
