i have been doing some research but a bristlenose pleco will also eat flake food off the bottom of a tank correct
 
that is true, but then feeding plecos cucumber is very good for them and I would highly recommend doing that, rarther than letting them get the flake food that is left as a main food source (of course there is the algae in your tank). try buying a screwcumber to make it sink.
 
Actually, cuke has minimal nutritional value. Green zuchini and canned grean beans (no salt added ones) are much better choices. BN are primarily vegetarian but they do appreciate the occasional bllod worm or two.

You can buy a zuchini, slice it and then freeze it. To feed, defrost a slice in the microwave til it will sink when allowed to cool in glass of cold water.
