Is this a female? It's 3" long and I've had it for about 7 months I think.

yep that's a female and what do you feed it, because i've got 2 females and i've had them for seven months and they haven't grown one bit.

Tetra Variety wafers.

Try feeding them more as a treat and use algae wafers and catfish pellets as a more stable diet, variety wafers are for the more carnivore type catfish/plecs and may in time start to cause dietry problems :)

Unless the fish has a little case of bloat (not at all saying she has but a possibilty if variety wafers are the stable diet) she looks very egged up :good:

I've tried feeding cucumber but it was completely ignored :\ I'll try some proper algae wafers.
I don't have a male to breed with her :(

Thanks for the help :D

There isn't a male in there, so I'm afraid it is probably a case of bloating

There doesnt need to be a male for her to egg up, hope that makes you feel better :)

Try feeding some deshelled peas to get her to go... have you tried corgette?

I haven't tried either of those things, I will get some algae wafers, and give corgette a go. Thanks :)

You may need to try a few times with fresh veg before she goes for it and realises it is food, weight down a 1/2" slice of washed courgette with a stainless steel spoon and remove after a max 24hours - replace with a fresh bit. She'll soon get the idea!

Ok, since I turn on the lights in the morning and turn them off in the evening, I'll just keep the spoon tied to a fishing line so I can pull it out in the evening, I'll do it for a week or something. Thanks :)

Also, how long do you think it will be before my pleco is about 4 or 5 inches?
What are the chances of her growing that large?
