I noticed that my bristlenose looks very pale compared to when i got him.
Could it be a lack of algae in his diet?
I am thinking i should put him in the 65 gal tank.

i have had the same problem, but this was just after a tank move. think he might have been a bit stressed. its been 2 weeks now and all his colours have come back and he seems happy.

they change colour for a number of reasons. Stress is one of them.

In our main tanks we have some fry growing up, they were all the same colour, but they change to suit their surroundings.

we have light ones that live on the bamboo and dark ones that live on the filter and bogwood.

Its normal.
