i have one baby platy that is currently in a tub in the tank. it's four weeks old. i was wondering when it can be released without being eaten by my bristlenose??

The bristlenose won't bother it, I've bred platys with adult bristlenose in the tank.

Like Tolak said, not much risk from the BN in that situation. Most other fish pose a greater threat. You don't say what other hungry mouths might be in the tank. That could be the determining factor.

I learned the rule that if the big fish's mouth is bigger than the fry, you should leave the fry by themselves. Otherwise, feel free to let them go.

ohh ok good! cause i was told that it would eat the fry. that's good to know. the other fish are 3 widow tetras and 4 platys!

With platies in the tank, wait until the fry is at least 15 mm long. I am not familiar with those particular tetras.
