Ok, just bought some brine shrimp eggs (hatchable) and a 1ft x 1ft cube. I know that the eggs can be hatched in a 2 liter plasic bottle. But i was just wondering as i dont have any fry at the moment could i grow theese BBS in to adults in my 1ft x 1ft cube? And also what is the best food to feed them? And would i be able to collect my own eggs off theese adult brine shrimp? Thanks. :good:

yeah, ive never hatched any BBS before but i read its extreamly easy, i was wondering if they could lay there eggs in a tank so i dont have to keep buying the eggs off the internet, as it would be alot cheaper!

I have hatched brine shrimp heaps of times, they really are easy its the actually raising them that I always fail at

even with their special powder food. In the right conditons you should be able to get the brine shrimp to adulthood and from there I think they are like rabbits in the egg production. I am not sure however if the eggs would need to be collected and dried for a while before adding them back to salt(y) water as this is how they survive dry times in their natural environment. I guess it also depends on what species of brine shrimp you actually have and their normal life cycle. I believe I read somewhere once that brine shrimp have been known to survive the hungry mouths of marine fish kept in tanks, and formed their own colony. I am not sure if this would really work for to long because as a general rule I don't think brine shrimp are naturally found in the ocean, more land locked salty enviroments with heaps of sunlight and algea.
