Brine Shrimp?

hi, ive never hatched this before so i was wondering if you could help on a quick way of doing this
i ordered a 25gram pack of brine shrimp artemia eggs and got free instant ocean sea salt with it.
this is pic of pack:

the instructions i got was this:

1. Put 1 ltr tap water in clear container (pop bottle is ideal.)
2. 2. Add 2-3 tsps salt.
3. Place in strongly lit & warm place.
4. Aerate strongly WITHOUT an airstone.
5. After 24-30 hours (depending on temperature) strain through a fine sieve (kitchen paper is ideal) & dip into tank.

the questions i have is:

is tap water suppose to be cold water etc??
when adding salt do you add eggs as well, if so how much out of the sachet??
what is the brown powder stuff in sachet??
how do you aerate it without airstone??
how do you know when it is ready??
how do you sieve it through kitchen paper towels and what into??
and what is left on the kitchen towel??

sorry for all questions i just want to get it right and ive looked through other instructions and still dont get it! lol

1. i use tank water
2. i use 1 salt rock ( so about a teaspoon full)
3. brown stuff
4. yes air stone
5. turn off air and watch them move about (24-48hrs)
6. i sieve throught coffee filter paper (works very well)
7. brine shrimp

the brown stuff in the packet are they all the eggs ?
how much of the packet do i add to a litre of water along with salt?
do the shells go through the paper or are they just left on paper with brine shrimp

Sorry yes all eggs, i use liquid eggs (about 10 drops) so i guess about 1/4 teaspoon full should do the job, and yes shells left on paper also but not a problem as they just sink and when you clean bottom just suck them up

Did you get a hatchery as well or are you going DIY? A 2 litre bottle turned upside down (neck downwards) with the base cut off is the best DIY hatchery

Yes just use water straight from the coldwater tap.

Switch on the air, then add the salt and wait until it has all completely dissolved and then add the eggs

No idea, brine shrimp food maybe, wheres the rest of the package?

how do you aerate it without airstone??

Just put the bare airline in so it sits on the bottom of the bottle with a weight of some kind to keep it down, you need a valve as well to control the air flow, you only want about one bubble per second just to keep the eggs from settling in the bottom. Airstones can produce too much turbulance and break the tiny shrimp up.

how do you know when it is ready??

you'll see the tiny shrimp moving about

how do you sieve it through kitchen paper towels and what into??

place the towel over a container and pour the water through it, the shrimp stay on the towel and the water goes through. Discard the water.

and what is left on the kitchen towel??

the picture was all that i got with it it was a sachet of what you see and a sachet of instant ocean sea salt!

how much of this will i add to 1litre and does it need to be heated??

Room temperature should be fine. You only need to add about half a teaspoon of eggs at the most, you have a lot of eggs so just try varying the ammounts until you find the amount you will use, once they are hatched the brine shrimp dont last very long without a dedicated set up for rearing them to adults which is a lot of work and not really worth the effort.

i can just feed them the way they are after about 24-48 hours , how long will they last for as im only feeding them to 2 fish at the moment. as only 2 killi fry hatched! rest fungused

They will last up to 2 days in the hatchery but after 24 hours they will have used up a lot of the egg sack and not have much nutrition left in them so really you want to use up each batch within 24 hours. If you are only feeding 2 fish then halve the ammounts of everything and only add a tiny ammount of eggs to save wastage.
