I can't believe your patience! I'm only up to the 24th page and still no complete successes! I spent 2 and a half hours to get to there and I can't wait to come back and read the rest!

I drilled out three holes for the overflows, fitted three bulkheads, fitted the overflow/spawning tubes, cut two glass partitions and silicone fixed them in place. Fitted the water return pipes, and all is now ready for plumbing tomorrow...........

Plumbing all finished, and leak tested. I have hooked up a timer(lawn sprinkler type), so it will do automatic water changes everyday. I am going to go back to using my tap water for now, and see how it goes. The water has zero chlorine or anything else added, as it is pumped from a 200 foot deep bore hole behind my house, then run through a membrane and carbon filter. So I don't need to treat it with anything. Only problem is that it has a slightly higher rate of TDS than is perfect, but let's see......

Now to go and cook the Turkey

I have read all 46 pages and you are doing great. Keep up the work and I cant wait to hear more!

Just read this cant believe haven't seen it before!
Has been very helpful as i am about to start trying to breed my discus. I have 2 pairs at the moment, 1 pair the albino yellow crystals are laying eggs every week, but unfortunately they are in my show tank so eggs and wrigglers keep getting eaten but if i can get everything together and ready they will be in a breeding tank next week :)

Can't wait to see more beautiful discus

Thanks EllieJellyEllie.

Amy, Do keep us updated on your progress. I have a plan for a slightly revised sequence of care for the eggs and fry. So all being well I will be in a position to post the phases here soon!

A bit of an LFZ(Love Free Zone) just now! Maybe I need to play some mood music! A bit of Barry White, or Tom Jones?............. "It's not unusual to be loved by any Discus"

Unfortunately my pair have laid eggs before i had time to move them :( ill have to move them next week
out of all places to lay their eggs they chose the heater

I've been forced to halt my attempts at breeding them.

I am upgrading the show tank though, and it will have a sump. Once I restock and the fish show intention of breeding the breeding tank will be plumbed in with the display tank through the sump.

That means that the water will be literally the same as what they normally live in and maintenance will be easier, because the water changes will be done only on the show tank, but will affect the breeding tank too.

It also means that the breeding tank will have the benefit of the show tank's plenty of plants and the chemical stability that comes from a nearly 700 litre system even if the breeding tank is only 90 litres.
