Maggie the are Zebra Obliqs. Males have a red underbelly and blk on the face.

Astatotilapia latifasciata

There is a Lake kyoga strain which Armkes in Texas sells.
Here's his pic. I don't keep them so I don't have a personal picture.

Sweet,Sweet Fish......
There is also another strain NOT from Kyoga.

I've had the zebra obliqs....spawn like rabbits once they get going.

Unfortunitly not to good a market here in Michigan for them.

Ended up letting mine go for $2.00 ea at 2.5". Took a beating on em.

It's a shame there is a big puddle called the Atlantic between us - Don't know really about availability of said fish in UK but they are real beauties...

Maggie, why title it 'Breeding Haps'? I've hap plenty of breeding mis-haps! ;) :p

slt - don't know how i got the pics so clear. mistake i guess.

danny do you think these are zebra obliques? kinda confused.

yeap looks like to me. the body shape is diff. than that of the Hap. 44. or Thichskin. The body is more slender and the head has a definate slope to it. Maybe it's just my fishie eyes though. I look at all the details not just markings on a fish.
dorsal, body shape, egg spot count, color, head structure, jaw structure. Once you have seen so many species you learn to appreciate those slight differences between species.
