My discus have bred 7 times and most recently have been getting to the wriggler stage. But after the eggs hatch i am pretty sure the male discus eats them. So my question is after the eggs have been layed and fertilized can i separate the male from the female and the eggs. any advice would be great thanks.

You could if you want to keep the eggs. Place them in another tank or maybe a make-shift tank until the eggs hatch. Then you could put the parents in and let the "survival of the fittest survive".

The pair will eat the fry if they get scared or don't feel safe or if you are messing around in the tank too much.

Are the pair in their own tank with no other fish? Because that's the first step to raising discus. It's best to keep fry with parents because the are mucus feeding fry. Getting to the wiggle stage is a great start I would set up a breeding tank for them.

Yes the pair is in a 55 gallon planted with no other fish. They layed a new batch of eggs yesterday :) And i am going to put a mesh cage around the eggs so they dont eat the wrigglers

The cage will help if it's the eggs they want to eat. As soon as they are free swimming it's could be dinner time. It's worth a shot.
