Hi Guys,
Been a long time since i have posted anything on here, I wanted to ask a few Questions about Breeding Angels
I currently have a video uploading to youtube for you all with a question or two and showing the tank i have the fish in..
But what i want to know mainly is how to sex angel fish. I have looked up how to so many times but cant find a clear answer. But from what i have seen i can only assume that they are both males. (obviously breeding them is out of the question then) but if so i want to get some more!

Unfortunately there is no really reliable method of visually sexing very young angels other than examining the breeding tubes.  Older angels will sometimes, but not always, display secondary characteristics such as a pronounced head hump in some males.  Many older male angels don't have any discernable hump however, so lack of one doesn't tell you a lot.  Some angel breeders dislike the feature and breed away from it.  I'm not certain split ventrals are very reliable, my only adult angel with even one is a female.
To be 100% sure of a pair you really need them to produce a fertile spawn, even two young females can "pretend" to be a pair and go through the motions, but of course those eggs never hatch.  If you have a compatable pair, angels are usually easily convinced to spawn.  I always pull and artificially incubate the first spawn of any pair simply to confirm the sexes.  If you leave the spawn with them there's a good chance it will disappear before potentially hatching.  If the pulled eggs hatch, you can raise them or simply wait a week or two for them to spawn again if you intend to allow them to try parent raising.  Good luck, they are very pretty angels!

Sarah is right - can be no signs or discerning features etc but the picture I posted is a rough guideline of what a lot of Angels can be sexed by. The only 100% way is seeing the papilla of each Angel drop (their genitalia so to speak) when it comes to spawning time. My pair have theirs down most of the time!
