bolivian rams

hi

im a bit confused cuz i got a bolivian ram and he looks nuthing like the ones i saw on the forum...........wats the difference between a bolivian and a blue ram?

So you can see there is DEFINITELY a difference. The two species of rams are actually not even related.

I used to have 2 Bolivian rams and they were more pinkish than even the ones in that 2nd link.

I'll have to try to find the info again, but they aren't related.

As juviniles.. rams colors wont be shown. They dont get their colors until older. And every fish is a little different. I've had people look at my rams and say that theirs have never been that colorful. So its all that particular fish, but thats what they look like.

Wait.. I think I got confused... It wasn't that they aren't related.. it was that the bolivian ram isn't a RAM. Mikrogeophagus altispinosa whereas german blues are mikrogeophagus ramirez (if I spelled them correctly)

Actually the Microgeophagus are both rams, branched off from their larger relatives, the geophagus. The rams are two species in one genus.

Thank you dwarfs.Another thing....."German" blue rams? well not really,they are originally from the Colombian and Venezuelan llanos.
Like it was said before,if you have a juvie,chances are that it hasn't develop its true colors ,yet.
