I recently bought what i thought was six boita kuboti and it appears to me that one is actually a Botia rostrata . Do you think that they are similar enough that i dont need to go find some more of my oddball? They look a lot alike as juviniles but the markings are a bit different. Anyone have any knowledge on them?? Any help is much appreciated!!!
ok back to the original subject in this thread. My one ladder loach is killing off my tiger barbs one by one. It chews on the bottom side until there insides start coming out. I dont have a qt tank to put it in. what would you guys do? I think im gonna have to euthanize it. I cant just watch it do that and I know I wont find any more of those around here to give it a bigger shoal. Not to mention No qt tank to put them in if I did actually find some. What are your suggestions?

Yikes!!!!!!!! If you don't have a lfs you could bring it to, then you gotta do what you gotta do! If it's killing barbs, i can't imagine what it could do to your polka dots and everyone else

That is very sad :(  I read that they can be fin nippy, but this behavior seems really extreme!

Its gonna be next to impossible to catch the little booger too. I tried to suck it up with the syphon a couple days ago but that didnt work.

Just found another dead tiger barb. Thats two fish dead in two days. When I was observing them I only seen the one attacking them.

try catching him after dropping in their food, it always helps me lol it's the only way I can catch any of my fish.

So sad to hear about you barbs!!!

excuse the mess. I just finished installing the wall. But I am VERY happy with how it turned out. Now thinking about doing a couple caves and mimicking it on the left side and getting rid of the slate all together. Think im finally onto something that I like a lot!! What do you think?

Oh and I couldnt catch the little booger. Looks like I will have to set a trap and catch all the polkadot loaches too. :(
Oh and my anubias nana is starting to flower too!!! If the loaches will leave it alone.......

I love how the rock wall looks! Cant wait to see what it looks like with caves, though I do like the look of the slate.

Ya know. I do too. But I think I could do better with another rock wall and maybe some smaller slate caves. Make the focal point the plants and multiple viewing areas with a few smaller slate caves. Obviously I need some because my anubias is loving it! :) will have to see what I come up with for my next peoject. Right now im teying to get the flow right for the plants. Thats not easy with a big powerhead. Maybe I shoulda went two smaller ones

What would be crazy is if you made a rock wall for the background, perhaps with plants draping down over it.

Maybe when the babies grow up ill tear down the 20 gal and give that a shot! The 130 gal though. Thats 12 sq ft of covering... lol
