I've had a spawning mop in my main 55gal to see if i could get my rainbow fish to spawn. I just collected about 40 eggs off it most of them appear to be ready to hatch, cuz a lot of them have visible eyes. I want to transfer them to my 20 gal planted tank. Would I do this the same way as acclimating a fish?. I'm going to keep them in a breeder net until they hatch and are free swimming. I'm hoping they will be able to eat vinager eels, cuz i don't have any live food smaller than that.

cheers, Mikaila31

Vinager eels should be fine, but their have the yolk sac for 2-3 days after hatching.

The best thing is to hatch the eggs in a small tub like a butter tub or something.

let the grow in that for 10 days as the food will be concentraded into a small area and eaiser to feed the fry, once they are 10 days or so them move the to the main rearing tank (or ur planted tank)

And then do simple water changer between the tub abd the tank to get then use to the new water slowerly (2-3 hours) and off you go :)

ye thats fine and the add the water slowly when their ready

In the middleof the night 5 of them hatched :hyper: !!! They are so tiny and cute . I'm hoping that when I get back home there will be more.
