Might sound dumb.... But I've never encountered any mollies with any blue colour to them, however I do have a dalmation Molly with a very blue tail, is it possible to get blue as a body colour too?
He also has the most impressive top fin, its not what I would call a high, or sail fin... But it wraps all the way forward to the point where he can see it, he's chased it a few times =\ he's the most aggressive breader in the tank... But no fry have ever had his fins or colouring.

The two most recent pics on here show the dalmatian Molly in question, and a balloon Molly with similar fins.

So any ideas how I can get blue bodied mollies! Lol

In that first pic in your album to me personally that Molly looks blue to me but it's hard to tell as the fish as always when we all try to get a decent pic decide to move

And I wouldnt have a clue besides try your hardest to only find mollies with blue colours and breed them until they are all blue. I think this question is down to the more knowledgable guys and girls on here but I'm curious as I've never seen a blue molly and would love to see blue mollies

Exactly, hes the closest I've got. The balloon has a more spectacular tail, its blue with coloured spots like a peacock. However the Dalmatian is a much deaper blue, like coral platy blue.

My silver sailfin mollies have a mere hint of blue to their body color. I have no doubt that someone who started with my fish could rather quickly, in maybe 4 or 5 generations, develop a blue molly. I must admit to never having seen a blue molly so far. Give me a couple of years and I could become your supplier though. A blue molly is just not that far from an every day fish.

Well I have been trying! He's my most ..... Active male shall we say. But none of his fry have had his colouring. So I've Baught another female with a blueish tail, we'll see how we get on. If I could create something similar to my favourite platy, the coral ones with blue body and orange fins, I'd be very happy.

Aren't guppies cross breedable with mollies? That would make some very interesting colour combos.

Although a guppy molly cross is genetically possible, I have kept both fish together for over 5 decades and have never seen such a cross. I would try another approach to get guppy-like colors into a molly if I were you.
