Hi There,
Thought I would put up a couple of pics of my blue crayfish/lobster, I've only had him a couple of weeks. In the last few days he has molted, and increased in size by about 40%. Does anyone know how often they do this, and will his colour return ?
Thanks
riz

Hi chooklet,

Yes he's in there with a 8" plec, some tiger barbs and an assortment of other fish. I made the real silly mistake of not researching this one online before purchase, according to the lfs he would be fine with the other fish as long as he's fed, so far it seems to be true I have plenty of rocks/caves/wood in there, however I think this may become an issue when he grows up a bit more, so will have to think of getting him a tank. He's been nicknamed rock predictably enough, great track by the B52s :)

Here's another pic of him.

they will get to 10"!!

lovely pics there, looking at your pictures it seems that one of mine is coming up to molt and 1 has just had a molt!!

by the way where abouts in east anglia are you?

Hi guys,
been a while and he's getting bigger!! Still wrecking the tank and making sure I have to buy plants every 2 weeks. When I got him he ejected the plec I have from his home, however this weekend the plec decided to fight back and now the plec has his home back and if the lobster comes near him he thrashes like a loony and this seems to scare the lobster away again :hyper:
Couple of pics..

lol.
People that put crayfish with fish obviously dont care for there fish, as they most proberbly will get eaten in time.
They change colour after moult due to lighting. No light, a far better colour. With light, dodgy. well thats is my reasearch anyhow.
That is a nice looking cray, i might take a pic of a couple of mine.

Careful - "Rock" WILL climb from his tank. I had mine for about a year, then he somehow found a way to climb out. (They apparetnly go towards water - I.E. bathrooms) Don't know if that's a myth, but mine did. Silly dead thing!

Wow what great colours yours have. I just gave mine up to free up my tank!!

By the way I just had a closer look at the picture with Rock rearing up and he's actually a she!!

how big is she now?

Hi,
thanks for the replies, and thanks Paul for sexing her for me :) - she is around 6" long now.
Den she's already tried to get out, I now have two large stones inside the tank lid holding it down, my wife will kill me if she gets out :byebye:
Sam, I do appreciate what you say, and I am considering getting another tank for her, although so far no one has dissappeared yet.
thanks all..
