Does any one know how big is a minium blue acara tank needs to be

you could keep one on it's on in a 24x12x12 - but that would be a bit dull

if you want cichlids... buy the biggest tank you can.

can i reccomend two fish that look like small blue acaras...

aquidens curviceps

aquidens dorsiger

both of these are dwarf cichlids that are suited to small tanks.

blue acaras reach 8" so will need alot more space than a 2ft can provide.

id say you need a 48" tank to house one comfortably but you could have other fish 2 then.

most tank bred specimins these days are from pretty poor stock.. they rarely reach 6"+

I did also say dwarf varieties that look similar would be a better bet.
