I am finding it hard to get live bloodworms from my lfs. The fishing tackle shop down the road from me sell live bloodworms all the time to the anglers, i just want to know if these are safe to feed my fish in the aquaruim as i dont wanna lose any of them due to disese.

Please help !!!!!!!

I don't know if I would trust a bait shop. The bloodworms they sell could be contaminated and that could lead to disease as you mentioned. If its hard to get live bloodworms try using frozen bloodworms instead. They are easier to find and have no possibility of spreading disease as the live bloodworms can.

I'm faced with the same problem, and no one around here sells frozen either. :/

does anyonoe know why i cant post any topics or reply to any in any of the boards except the livebeaer one
Please help!!

Freeze dried works too. It has slightly less nutritional value then frozen but the fish still go wild for it. Or if all your pet stores don't sell any (its hard for me to find good fish foods in my pet stores) you can order from catalogs. It can be kind of expensive but they will ship frozen food or freeze dried foods. I have ordered it this way.

Sorry, no idea bout the bloodworm.

In response to Clown King, I can't be sure but your group says "validating". Did you reply by email to activate your account when you set it up? When you set up an account they send you an email to check if your email address is the correct one, until you reply to that mail, your account will not be validated. Cheerio

I know my platies go absolutely crazy over frozen bloodworms!!

I've never been able to get live ones -- Petsmart & PetCo here carry Hikari frozen bloodworms (as well as other frozen fish foods) though. Do you have one of those near you?

they havent sent me a email, i requested another one and they still havent sent one.

I have never seen a Petsmart that didn't carry frozen bloodworms and other foods. Normally carry Hikari and Sanfrancisco Bay. That is where I always get mine actually. I don't think I would chance going with live ones myself.

i live in Philadelphia and there is a specialty store that deals only with fish called "The Hidden Reef", luckly the sell live blood worms and i can get them there. Try looking in your are for a shop that deal only in FISH, i'm sure they will have them. Or check on line and look up The hidden reef and mabey see what they can do. The are registered on line , along with other specialty shops and maybe able to guide you. Hope this helps. I also feed frozen blood worms to becuase the can be stored and I don't have to run out all the time and this works fin. Good luck
Patty
