Hi all..... I've gotta say this....

i went into my lfs today to look at the fish (as you do) i was absolutely gobsmacked to see that they're Albino Tiger Oscars had gone up in price.... i don't mean a little bit i mean from £7.99 to £12.99! (Bearing in mind they're only babies)

Is it just my imagination or is that a really high price?

Anyone else think their lfs is over priced or a good value for money?

Kaz x-x-x-x

I haven't looked at prices of oscars that much, but that is rediculous. I can get one for $5

ooohhh yeah, i went to an llfs open day, and some of the prices.... :/ It was literally turning away customers which isnt good for an lfs that is just opening. I got my Bolivian Ram, , for $4.50 down the road, at the open day they were $12.85!!

They're not at all rare over here.... they're in nearly every lfs around here!

the one i've got (my lil georgeous) was only £4.50. For £12.99 i'd expect it to be Gold-Plated!

I paid $1.99 for a really nice 2 inch RTS in San Diego the other day.... my old man saw one a similar size in the UK yesterday for GBP 2.95, which is around $5.50 at todays exchange rate!!

To be quite honest i think it's just this country that's over priced. Prices are going up on everything but wages don't keep up! Oh what it is to be british! :S

Alright for some..... i'm having problems even moving of this island let alone out of the country! My hubby has been here all his life so he won't go unless his life depended on it..... even then he's moan about it!

What you must remember is that it costs a hell of a lot more to ship fish from the likes of peru or asia to the british isles than it does to say the usa. if a delivery is short of a certain breed of fish then all lfs are gonna take advantage of this and hike up their prices. its wrong but hey what can we mere mortals do about it apart from not paying the extortionate prices.

Blair has probably bunged a load of tax on them too.
