over the last months ive notice around one of my black widows a blackspot over its mouth and spots accross its sides, as the weeks progressed the black spots got slightly bigger. over the weekend i have now notices 3 other black widows with the spots.

they have lost their black stripes and black botton fins which used to be quiet distinct. none of seem to be isolating themselves and seem to feed well, does anyone have any ideas what is going on? :dunno:

note none of my other fish have got this problem. if u need picture i can take some and post them in the forum.

Hi WheatS, is it possible for you to post pics of this at all? How big are the spots & are there getting to be more spots? If they are very small, small as/smaller than grains of salt, it might be Black Spot, which is a parasitic thing, much like Ich. I *think* this can be treated with a med for Ich also, but maybe someone else could confirm this. If on the other hand, they are larger, & look anything like the pics I posted in this thread (http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=49950), I have no idea what it is, but I've had 2 colombian tetras die from it. They also appeared in perfect health (except for the spots) and ate like pigs & hung around with their mates right up till a day or 2 before they died. I hope someone else can help more on this.

Goodluck :)
