I have noticed that most tanks come in either a black trim with black lights (you know not lights but the box that the light come in?) or an oak trim with oak lights. Which do you guys prefer?

Actually the tanks that I'm talking about both have plastic trims, but one is black plastic and one is oak colored plastic, not actual wood, sorry that I was unclear.

My stand is all pure oak with oak trim, to cover up the nasty edges. But my hood is just a stock one that came with the tank, so it's black. which still doesnt look too bad considering the wall behind it is blue so I don't really need a background for the tank.

Which ever one is on sale! :p

I have 1 black, 2 "oak", and one seamless. :)

I build my own tank stands and surrounds all genuine solid spruce :D. If I didnt do all my own tank bits Id choose black over fake wood.

I have both types of tanks. However I have found that after years of use, the "oak" look starts to come off of the tank. And all that is underneath the tank is the original black trim. Oak is often more expensive and harder to find sometimes around me. So I think it's all in what is avaliable and personal preference and how much you have to spend.
