Biggest pleco competition..?

I also have a Gibby  , but he's only about 4 inches, though he still does his job :p

He will be way too big for my tank, so will be going soon when he reaches about 6 inches or so :-( unless I miraculously get space for a bigger tank :D

I was given a plec(sailfin gibby) by my neighbour and it was 6inches yesterday......but I gave him back yesterday because I was getting fed up with the ammount of poop in the tank he was in.

i used to own a 10 inch royal panaque it was brilliant it use to scare away other fish in competition for food

My biggest at the moment is a 3.5" Bristlenose.... My other 2 plecs died from the dreaded ICH, I am so sad :( My Poor tiger plec and (expensive) L128!

I bought a 2" butterfly plec about 3 months ago and he has grown to about 3 1/2". Only last week I bought a golden nugget plec of about 4" so rather small at the moment.

I used to think pleco's were just ugly fish that ate all my elgee in my tank, but now as i see my pleco getting bigger and bigger, i admire its beauty, looks like a cheatah and is pretty gracefull!
this is exactly why i convinced my hubby to let me get a 210 gallon tank. now my scoobie(about 7" atm) can live out his life in comfort. he is a common so should get at least 12". maybe more

i have a 2.5inch pitbull plec LDA25
a 1.5 red whip tailed L10a
a 2 Jaguar hemiancitrus L174 (expensive one)
a 2 Gold Peckoltia LDA01
a 2 Xingu Peckoltia
a 2 clown plec
oh and of course my fully grown L71 Starry Night ancistrus with is 4inch, i took him home 2 weeks back now.

and i did bring home a 2.5 inch spotted bullnose but he died on his first night, might of been bullied by the starry night or pitbull. I'llprobable get a smaller one so they don't see it as competition, although i'm not sure for reason of death.

i took my 3inch sailfin to work to sell to make room for my new additions.

My L052 is about 5":

and my L134 is about 3":

Colin, what kind of plec do you have? You'll want to be careful with any kind of plec in a 15gallon tank. Many get very big and they all create masses of waste (even when they are small).

there lovely cheese!!!
Thanks! :D

Wouldn't you just love to give Brucilla (the L134) a big kiss?! He's gorgeous!! Mr Butterfly Plec (that's his name) is lovely, he had string caught round him and it had cut into his nose and gill. Anyway, he let me pick him up and untangle him without any struggle at all and he is fine, but with a little scar.

hmmm Brucilla and my surnames Bruce......!!!

nah i'm not into kissing fish really!!

I'm tempted to make a order for 2 new plecs from trimar a L75 para plec and a L260 Queen arabesque
