i bought some bigger pellets than usual in a fish shop and the fish are refusing them as they are too big it seems, any idea how i can get round this?

You could soak them in water for a couple of minutes though this is kind of a pain. I'm assuming the pellets are just slightly larger than what you usually feed them? Crushing them up is always an option too I guess. Maybe you take them back for an exchange? I bought some food that my fish didn't like and I took it back even though it was opened, with no issues.

What fish?
What were they on?
What is the new food?

Sometimes it just takes time for them to get used to new foods, but if it is a real issue they should be able to give you credit (even if partial) for an exchange.

I had to start soaking mine for my fish to be able to eat them because they're a bit on the large side. A few minutes didn't do the trick though.. More like half an hour. Now he sucks them all down and looks at me like I should be giving him more. They still float just fine and my fish seems to really enjoy chasing them after I first pour them into the tank and they're floating back to the top. Not really that much of a pain either..

Soaking food removes water soluble nutrients, not ideal long term.
