If you want a really big betta get a slender betta. They grow to 4 and a half inches. there not as pretty as the 2 and a half inches siamese fighting fish though.

My friend has had blueberry just over a year.
He came from WalMart and he said that he got big and *fat* (lol) like that almost instantly and has been that big ever since. It's really hard to tell just how huge he is in the pictures, because they're not to scale - but whenever I see him, I come home to my boys and they all look like scrawnies.

He is a very sweet boy - he lived in a 1/2 gallon shallow bowl for months. With no heater, and they always had it about 68 degrees in their apartment. I offered to give him one of my 2.5G tanks cuz it was empty at the time, and I also gave him a mini hydor heater just cuz I felt sorry for the poor guy. They used to change his water about once every 2 or 3 weeks, and they still do. I can't believe the big lug is even still alive. He's never been sick a day in his life either.

One of my LFS's has some plakats, they're big suckers, they must be giants.. because of how large they are.
