I have lost another guppy and another betta with no trace! I have noticed another betta (ny last one 😭) acting rather strange also, slightly lethargic and hides a lot, but I cant quite make out what the issue is

Another betta?
In a previous post you said you had one. These are not community fish (assuming b.splendens). If the culprit is indeed a fish that is where I would look first.

I have kept many 100s of plecos. I started with Ancistrus and them moved on to mostly Hypancistrus. I have never seen any of them them attack other fish. I have seen them fight each other for dominance and territory though.

Many years agp Ihad a few YO To loaches in my 45 gal. plkanted comminity. I also had a small group of DD black angels O was growing out to try got a pair. The YO Yo begab to harass the angels. The Yo Yos would swim up along side of the angels and nip at the area around the angel's gill flaps. I had to give away the Yo Yos. So they get my vote here as the potential trouble makers rather than the bristlenose.

OP how many bettas did you have in this tank? If you've set up a sorority they may have turned on each other and/or some of the guppies potentially.

What exactly do you currently have in the tank aside from the yoyo's and the pleco?

I had one betta originally but I got given another one and had no other tank to put it in, i have a swordtail, 2 male guppies now, 3 rosy tetras, 12 ish neons, the loaches, the pleco and a small apistogramma. The tank is well planted and had plenty hiding spots so I thought that if any violence happens they have a place to escape, but I have never seen any violence between the bettas or the guppies or indeed any other fish, they're just there one day and then dissappear another

Anyway I have but the betta in one of those breeding boxes you can get for guppy fry, and ill be looking closely to see if any other violence is happening

When I had a similar problem, the cause came as a big surprise. The tank in question housed three large loaches, was located in the lounge where I was sitting watching TV. My lighting system is on a timer which turns it off at 8 pm. In the dim room light the behavour of the loaches changed, they became more active and the largest then stalked and attacked one of the other fish in the tank.

you mentioned the betta was looking strange and being lethargic before you put it in the breeder box. I would think that they have some kind of disease or other problem. I had a tank where my fish got worms- I forget the type, but they're the kind that will hang out of the fish's butt sometimes. I caught it before the fish died, but the key was otherwise that fish looked perfect and ate like a horse.

Could be any kind of ailment and some of them I don't think have really obvious signs.

I have treated the entire tank with medication to kill off anything that could be suspicious, and the betta was being treated when she died also. The worms that you are talking about could be Camallanus, I have had them before, but in another tank, but i have treated this tank for them also, and several times recently as the fish dissappeared. The only thing that suspicious with the betta was that she rested more and was hiding in the plants, whereas before she was very active, and then when i seperated her she died after 2 days. I have been checking every fish for any suspicious signs.

Upon major study and searchibg probably half the internet, it is probably mycobacteriosis(TB) so I'll probably have to tear down the entire tank. My apisto died today. I am so upset, 2 years and hundreds of euros all to waste

I HAVE FOUND THE CULPRIT!!!!!!!
it was my filter all along! So I have done a water change yesterday and i have filled the water up high to the point where it went over the top of the skimmer, and over the top of the little cage I had there to stop plants and stuff going in. Turns out, when the water level was high all the guppies and long finned fish were sucked in over the cage thing, I noticed yesterday when 20 mins after the water change another guppy dissappeared. Anyway I found the body shredded down in the filter( poor baby) but i made a better top to put on the skimmer so that no fish will ever get sucked in again! The betta and the apistogramma probably died of hexamita, but i have treated the whole tank and everything looks perfect and healthy
