Hi all,

I have a 190l tank with two goldfish and 5 zebra danios.

Eventually I plan to add more fish (I'm still waiting for the new tank to cycle), the temp in the tank is currently 24 (75)

I want to add just the one betta, has anyone mixed these in, also considering a couple of dwarf gouramis ???

Would this be OK??

Thanks

CJ

I would not keep goldfish and tropical fish together. Goldfish require lower temperatures than tropical fish, and they create a lot of waste. I would suggest giving the goldfish away.

You might be able to add a male betta if you remove the goldfish, but the danios are fin-nippers and might harrass the male betta. A female betta would be ok there, though, because they ahve shorter fins. A dwarf gourami or any gourami that stays below 4 inches should do well in your tank.

danios dont harrass betta, everyone i have spoken to about this agrees. I have never had a danio touch my betta. Also i havent had any problems with gouramis, you should just keep an eye on them until they make friends. I agree with tempestuousfury, you should get rid of the goldfish because gouramis and the betta will need warmer temp. Good luck with the new fish! :D
