Hi, what do you guys add to your water to keep your bettas in top condition? ive noticed on some of my past bettas their lower fins always get crusty looking. Does anyone use almond leaf extract??

I think that all bettas need a tannin of one sort or another in their water. I personally use Amazon Rain (by Tropical Science) in all of my betta water, and with my wild bettas I use the amazon rain and oak leaves and they love it!

They say that's really good stuff! I know some of the members here use it, I've never tried it but I'd like to someday. I'm happy with what I use though, so I guess I'm too afraid of change to try anything new :p

Normally my betta water is pretty basic. Treated water, little bit of aquarium salt, little bit of aquarisol. In spawn tanks, fry tanks and jars, I also use stress zyme. Sometimes bit of bettafix for those with torn fins or recently spawned. Difficult or hesitant spawners I will use a tea additive or blackwater.

Almond leaf or my own almond leaf tea. I do not have a water softener... so I do add salt. I am waiting for the vita chem to come in.

Cheers for the tips guys!! Hi Never2ManyBettas do you sell this stuff?
