Right! Two 20% water changes/treatments later and all of Cassie's spots are gone. I'm still gonna treat/water change for at least another 4 days to make sure we got it all. He's very tired/weak, and has been doing lots of resting on his leaf-hammocks.
He doesn't stay still for long though, and he was having a good ole flare at the back of the tank.
I'm a bit worried about his tail. I'm not sure if he's been biting it himself, or if it's damage from rubbing against the substrate. I'm still debating whether fin rot is a possibility.
It's quite a chunk. I'll keep an eye on him. I'm thinking of getting some salt to see if it helps him heal.
Now! Seeing as this is actually a tank journal, I'd better tell you about the actual tank. The pink algae/bacteria/whatever is still on the wood. I didn't have time to get it off since the ich issue (and Cas likes sleeping in a crevice on it). It doesn't seem to be spreading though so I'll wait until I'm 100% sure he's better. Cue collective 'awww':
FTS:
The anubias flowers are still facing the wrong way. I think they must like looking out of the glass.
(I
might attempt pollination with a different, unrelated plant of the same species that is in the tank next door.
Might.)
The fern is coming on leaps and bounds. It was only a 1 leaf plant when I first attached it to that log so I'm pretty proud of the progress.
Some of the vallis is dying back, as I would expect after a new planting. And there are no runners yet. It's only been a week though, and my original planting technique wasn't great (there are roots EVERYWHERE).
The big anubias lost a couple of leaves, probably due to all my water changes. But the roots are really starting to cling on. All in all, the plants are doing well.
No more bubble-nests from Castiel yet. But I didn't expect any while he's sick.
I've seen a lot of pest snails. So I'm gonna have to get an assassin sooner rather than later. All my money's gonna go on upside down catfish for the 75 gallon though, so I might have to take Ezio or Altair from Pluto's tank.
The brotherhood shall be broken.
