well, the setting for it is on the lowest it can get, and the water just kind of drips into the tank. the filter came with my tank set which is Hagen brand, and he all day long will do to the other side of the tank, flare, swim fast to the filter, hit it, then swim behind the heater. non stop whether it's on or off and it's really concerning me now because it has been in for about a week already and he won't stop

Yeah well I would be concerned too.

I think someone who actually KNOWS something is going to answer you.

But you might want to start a new thread with a direct appeal. I believe you will get a reply soon, but if you get really worried and need an immediate response, go to emergency. They WILL get with you right away. Still I know there are people on this forum with lots of experience who will get with you soon.

I'm sorry I'm so totally ignorant. :dunno: nuthin

Is the filter intake clear or shiny? If so he might could possibly be seeing himself in it.

Is it brightly colored instead of black or clear? If so, he could see it as a threat, as in..see it as another fish.

You can try the filter foam or Panty Hose....he won't know it's there then..because he won't be able to see it anymore.

With your filter turned all the way down, til it's just dripping water from the out-take, it's not going to do much good filtration wise...so putting either one of the above mentioned suggestions will also allow you to turn it up a bit, so you can take advantage of the filter again.

the filter is clear grey, i will turn up the filter tonight then, thanks

By the way, in case you ever need it, "Tropical Fish Emergencies" is the forum I was referring to. It's just above this one. :)
