Is it normal for betta's to rest on plants.

I thought my betta was dead just now it was laying on a plant went to move him and he just swims of as if nothing is wrong.

Yes it is. Betta's have long flowy fins so need to rest somewhere quite regularly as they get tired very easily.

Thank you so much im glad i have lazy betta.

Is there any thing i can buy/make for him to rest on that he would like??

My betta rests in all sorts of places, on the silk plants, on the anubias, even on top of the filter in the top right corner out of the way (one of his favourite places, strangely).

I've heard you can buy 'betta hammocks', which are basically fake leaves which attatch to the side of the tank. Apparently some bettas do use them. I suppose it's just special in the way that you can affix them anywhere you want, including near the surface for breathing purposes :good:

As said totally normal for bettas to rest.
To be on the safe side check him for anything unusual; clamped fins, fungus etc.

He is more than likely a lazy boy :D

Just checked him over hes looking good. I think hes found him self a spot in the tank its always the same plant hes resting on.

I found my bettas adore the Zoo Med Betta Leaf Hammock! And that betta floating log!

well i used to have a betta until it died lol and it used to sleep behind the filter and on plats also :shout:

I have those betta hammocks (leaf) for my male bettas, they love them, they are perfect for them :good:

Mine is very lazy lol he loves lying on my helferi right at the front of my tank. On the other hand, maybe he just loves the attention and is showing off!

I got a wisteria plant the other day, he loves it.
Whenever I pass the tank he's happily snoozing on it.
This is mine having a nap on the anubias
