No one would put a cute puppy in a small plastic box with just enough room for it to turn around, would they? So why do they do it to fish? Yea, bettas can "survive" in small spaces and without a heater/filter but that doesn't mean they are happy/healthy. I am proud to say my male betta has his own 10 gal. With a few albino corries eating his leftovers.

Oh yea, and some ghost shrimp as well.

The gravel is rainbow colored and I am looking forward to changing most of it (as much as I can scoop out) to a more natural color. As soon as I moved him into the 10 gal he swam around, just checking everything out. I never knew how fast they were until he had enough room to dart around.
My female betta is in a 30 gal.
And I hate how all pet stores sell "betta tanks" that are only small enough to fit the betta in. Why can't there be atleast like a 5 gal. "betta tank"? All the ones I see are like a half gallon at the most.

Poor Bettas. If males could live together peacefully I would fill my 30 gal with them.
