I have a female betta that is kept at my mam's house because she needed a buddy. And I came up just now and found her lying behind the bowl. She seemed pretty dry and I picked her up and thought for sure she was dead, but upon popping her back in the water she started breathing again. And was wiggling around a little, but I don't think she'll make it. Any thoughts?

Well she's not moving much, I have a bad feeling about her survival...

give her her a couple of days because she just jumped out the bowl and was dry so it might take her a couple of days put some stress coat stuff in her bowl and feed her high quality foods like bloodworm and she should be on the mend hope she gets well soon :D

My male jumped out of a covered tank. He hit the opening for the filter (nice aim). I am not sure how long he was out but when I put him back in the tank, he could not swim and stuck to the filter intake. I turned off the filter and by the next day he was back to normal.

If she's not moving around much lower the water level so she doesn't have to try so hard to get to the top. There have been many parents of jumpers on this board, and many have made it. I would definitely add some stress coat, and just hope for the best. Goodluck! There is a good chance she'll be ok, she's probably just very stressed from her trip outside the home. They think things are so much better on the outside.... if they only knew! It reminds me of the Spongebob episode where he decides to leave the Sea and he dries out!

My male betta jumped out of a shallow tupperware during a water change, and then proceeded to plummet 4 feet from the counter to the hard linoleum floor of my kitchen. After clumsily picking the squirming fish up, I put him carefully back into his tank, only to realize that I'd neglected to add dechlorinater to the fresh water! I immediately did so, and although I was skeptical as to his survival at first, he made a complete recovery and now resides peacefully in my mini-pond. Good luck with the betta! Hope he makes it :)

Yes. I have two who have and did. You would never even know if you saw them now. I found them dried to a crisp, yet they still recovered. I hope you found her just in time

I have a female who has jumped and hit the floor twice  She is fine. She's tough as nails :p

I've also has quite a few other fish jump on me white netting them or what not they were also fine. I have hardwood floors too so they hit pretty hard :S

Sad to say the poor dear didn't make it. This morning she was dead in the bowl. I added stress coat and fed her brine shrimp and everything. But she didn't make it. :(

I once had a guppy (2 actually, at the same time, odd enough) who managed to get out of their tank, and considering their state, must have been out for a LONG time. They were completly dry... Upon putting them back in the tank, and properly sealing it up, I found that it took a few days before they wre back to normal... But they recovored.

ive had 2 of my bettas jump 1 of my tigerbarbs an my 8'' oscar jumped when i opened the top. scared the CRAP out of me but the good news is he landed RIGHT IN THE TIGERBARB TANK!!!! so i got him out asap but he already ate one of my mossbarbs :(
