How long did you condition your fish for? And the purpose of this thread is so that people know that patience and proper equipment is needed. I have seen to many threads where people think that they can throw a male and female together and everything will be fine and dandy. If breeding is in the cards, do it right. That is all I am saying.
ohh thats what your looking for, lol i usually condition until i see the female is ready, she usually developes lines on her face and maybe body, its a way how i can tell. sooo maybe 1 or 2 weeks, mabe more if im waiting for a male to heal or something.
EQUIPMENT.
-Tank, 5 minumum- 20 gallons
-grow out tank- for when the fish grow up
-ALOT OF CUPS, -well depending on how many fry you have.
-water conditioner- i prefer attison's
-PLANTS-use for an anchor for the nest, if you don't have any, PLASTIC PLANTS, or a styrafoam cup.
-SPONGE FILTER-provides filtration for the fry
-AIR TUBING-alot, connects everything in the tank.
-PUMP- for spone filter
-HEATER, its important to keep the temp around 79-84
-light- so it'll provide the male so he can see the eggs
-MONEY- to get all this stuff
-A pair- 2 compatible bettas
-air control valves
-2 platic 1 liter bottles for brine shrimp hatchery if you have frys.
-brine shrimp eggs
-salt
-baking soda
-ridgid air tubing
-maybe almond leaves if you want
-a conditioning food, blood worms work, FROZEN ONES.
-pump for the thing.
-all the salt, baking soda, bottles, ridgid tubing, are used for a brine shrimp hatchery.
