Betta breathing very heavy

Melafix (or Bettafix or Pimafix) should not be used in a tank with any labyrinth fish as the aromatic oils they contain can coat the labyrinth organ.

Methylene blue was mentioned in an earlier post - please be aware that this will kill the filter bacteria and stain everything blue.

Alright will do, I added some aquarium salt yesterday but I might put a little bit in tomorrow. Just dimmed the lights now, I can't thank you enough for all your help, I really appreciate it, and I'm sure lemon cakes (his name) does as well. Thank you so very much ☺️
Actually put some more of it in every 2-3 days cause it’s very strong. And if you overdose it to often it can cause problems.

Didn’t know melafix could actually be not the best medicine . The instructions will say different things sometimes like to use if for bacterial infections or wounds so it’s kinda confusing. I knew methylene blue was one of the good products cause I would always hear fish keepers using it if there fish was seriously sick. What do you think the best option is when your fish has a problem?

Medications very rarely cure anything, that is because you will never know that what you are seeing is the primary or secondary problem. Use medications with caution. Sometimes fish just die.

I did do some research on the product, so I only used it every couple of days and diluted the solution. He perked right up, and is now healthy and happy once again. Thank you all so much.
