Betta breathing very heavy

In case of "shorts" fin, it's a Betta plakat, maybe a 'polka dot' pattern.
In doubt, you could deworm him with eSHa-ndx (efficient againts flat and round worms).

If you waterchange, make sure it is at the same temperature as tank's.

Thank you :) I'll have a look at my local fish shops. Thanks for the tip, I always try and make the water as close as possible.

He didn't want to come up for air so his fins aren't as spread out as I'd like them to be for the picture but I hope this helps

Yeah your betta looks very bad, I would HIGHLY recommend getting him something quick, if you can get your hands on methylene blue I would get it as fast as possible, if you cant get it fast I would use the other bacterial remedy that I linked you. Make sure to keep the water at safe perimeters. I’ve had bettas that look like this and if you don’t be quick they can die.

Oh god alright, I'll go down now and get him some. I'd have to walk so do you think he'd last another hour? Poor guy.

Yes he will probably be fine cause your water perimeters are pretty good. How does he look when he is breathing right now? Does he take big pauses when he breathes?

Hey sorry for the late reply. I just biked down to get him some antibacterial medicine, there was no methylene blue but I got something similar. He doesn't take any pauses, just big breaths continuously. Like how you might breath after running a race.

What is the name of the antibacterial medicine?

Melafix - Antibacterial Remedy For Aquarium Fish, it’s by API
Good 👍 Just follow the instructions on it and I would put some in once a day for 7 days for the full treatment, you can do it in a shorter time if he heals faster. If you haven’t already use a little bit of aquarium salt, if you haven’t already, I would also dim the light to reduce stress on him.

Alright will do, I added some aquarium salt yesterday but I might put a little bit in tomorrow. Just dimmed the lights now, I can't thank you enough for all your help, I really appreciate it, and I'm sure lemon cakes (his name) does as well. Thank you so very much ☺️
