As promised last week (sorry for the delay) here's some pics and a vid of my youngsters. Am looking to rehome some in August. So anyone wanting one, lemme know! I don't seem to have a single female from Bobs bunch (the red CT's) but have female blue HM's. They all ended up living together after they spawned within a few days of each other. Max's babes (the HM's) lived with him for a little over a month so he's a good Daddy and cared for his young a long time. Pics of parents at the bottom. :)

That's Bob. and below is his GF Sparks. Sadly she was severely injured in the spawn (his inexperience gave her broken ribs) and died shortly after. :-( Bob was born here too, last August.

Not showing off there but a lovely fella. And his girl Misty I can't find a piccy of! She's a blue HM, hence the babes colouring.

i agree i am setting up for my first betta and would want a male, and those babies look stunning, where are you based?

xXx

Lol sorry guys. I feel the same when I see bettas from the US too. Next time I'm over I might have to try and sneak one back with me. :hey:  :look:

oooo lovely! im in the process of setting up my first tank.....

what do these betta's grow to? size wise?

On average, between two and three inches, tail included. I'd say the body length is generally about 1.5 inches. They can be bigger and obviously the breed makes a difference. PK tends to be the biggest body size of the splendens sp. There are giants around but I've not got one. One day......one day. :shifty:
I know there are guys around who do have the giants. The great thing about bettas is they are pretty hardy. They won't cope with strong currents in the tank tho, or other tank mates too well. Except the girls. My girls live with loads of tank mates perfectly well.
The males, of course, are georgeous. but they need their own homes, especially these guys of mine. All on them will have substantial finnage as adults, as you can tell by their parents. Even a few of the females are devolping long finnage. Alot of other lil fish are either nippy or colourful, both of which cause trouble in the end. The one time I put one of my males in a community tank he was miserable as hell. They love their own homes.
Update on the babes. Am beginning to seperate some off now. Although still quite small the girls are barring up for the boys and there's alot of posturing going on. Have moved out two of the chaps already for over flirtatious behaviour towards their siblings.
Will try to get some individual shots of the largest beasties this coming week. :good:

Edit:That pic of the betta you see below is how Bob looked at around 3-4 months. So you see how much more growing they do in the following months when they reach full adult status, as he is in his other pic earlier in the post.

I would love 1-2 of your female blue HM's. How much would you want for them and postage? I have a fish that looks identical to bob except mine is VT, nice fish you've got :good:

Aw, there so adorable, I too am raising young fry, about 3 months old. Good luck raising and selling your babies! :good:
