For my birthday i want to go to an aquarium. I went years ago to sea life centre plymouth. It was good but i want to go somewhere amazing. Has anyone been to a good one they recommend after going. Preferably one with bigish sharks!

Thanks

the Deep in hull is pretty good i went there last year with my family everyone had a pretty good time. They do have a few sharks

never been there before but london aquarium is meant to be pretty good

The Blue Planet in Ellesmere Port used to be spot on and had a number of sharks in there with a tnnel to go through

Another vote here for the London Aquarium. it's simply out of this world. Try to find out when they feed the sharks and other fish in there, as a chap in a diving suit actually gets in and swims with the fish whilst feeding them. It's not cheap though! If you do go, it's right next to the London Eye, so worth a visit to both.

I have been to the London & Bournemouth Aquariums.

London Aquarium was a good few years ago. Not sure if they still have them, but there were Rays that you are allowed to touch and stroke.
There were also some decent sized sharks.

B'mouth Aquarium was ok. Not as good as London though.

They still do. We went in December 2010 and it was vastly improved from our previous visit 4 or 5 years before. There is a lot more interaction now.

Been to a lot of aquariums in the UK and london wins my vote everytime

birmingham was good also had a sea turtle and shark tank with a walk through (5-6ft sharks) and a tank with 3ft sharks

Went to London Aquarium 02/03/2011

The rays are no longer touchable - I did ask, was just shown a sign that said Do Not Touch. To be fair there was a few of these signs scattered around the room.

The main tank is very impressive - A few species of sharks, rays, and other large fish! No sea turtle though :(

I was very surprised to see they covered every angle of aquaria, from deep sea, marine, tropical and coldwater! - especially the tropical section, you sometimes dont realise how big the fish in the stores can grow! was amazing. Also the tank with at least 100 angel fish in. when they grow it will look amazing!

My one jibe is to do with the lack of sea turtles. they clearly show a picture on the outside of one but not even a sniff of one inside - petty i know... but i like sea turtles lol

All in all its definately worth a visit, GO BY TRAIN! you get 2for1! useful at £19 a head.

Blue Planet Aquarium is pretty cool. Not been for probably 7-8 years but apparently it is still very good.

James.

Blue Reef in Newquay was amazing when I went. Really enjoyed that one.

Shame the one in Tynemouth was poor.

Yes, opposite ends of the country! (I live in north east and was on holiday in cornwall).
