well only having 1 loach species is good because all loaches need to be in groups. And your chain loaches cover up the bottom area already.

You can try tetras, danios prefer cooler temps

i think my chains missed that memo :p
they go everywhere its fascinating it really is.
i try to keep the temp so that everyone is happy but yes ideally they do have to be rehomed but my lfs wont take them :(

tsk thats sad :(

You will have to stick with your stocking though or you can sell those loaches in our 'classifieds' section :D

out of my stocking id rather see the danios go because originally they were supposed to be for post-cycle fish to make sure that a mini cycle wasn't around the corner,
and me being a softy fell in love with them,
but the chain loaches have stolen my heart now,
so if anyone wants to buy some danios :p
i am looking to properly stock the tank just dont know which direction to go with it,

How about you substitute the angels with rams? they are more docile.

You  could go like this: 1 pair of rams, 5 chain loaches, 6 cardinal tetras, some top swimmers of some sort

in a 40 gallo

liking those suggestions alot,
would i be able to swap the tetras for rasboras or would that not work?
i'll keep my eyes open but love the way everythings progressing,
cant get anything til thursday on payday :)

yeah I think so. Try posting on the classifieds if anyone is willing to trade, you can also buy from your nearest Maidenhead Aquatics

how difficult are rams to look after?
i've never really looked for them or at them tbh.

Rams are quite hardy fish, But the wild rams are a pain, they are too sensetive. so are electric blues
