Hi every1,
I have a 30 gal tank with some tetras in it. 6 tetras to be exact. I am planning to add german rams. Thereofre the tank will soon be heavly planted. I know plecos outgrow tanks. So i am looking for a small pleco that wouldnt outgrow the tank. Would a pleco be a better idea or a cory catfish? Any suggestions would be aprreictaed.

-Thx

And many more types of small plecs that will fit into your tank  , the larger species of plecs are often more commonly available than the smaller ones so the challenge is finding the smaller species of plecs at your local fish store.
Plecs and corys although both catfish, are quite different and each vary a huge amount. Many plecs out there prefer to be on their own while pretty much all cory species prefer to be in groups of at least 3-5+. Having both corys and plecs shouldn't be a problem, what type of tetras do you have?
Your tank is quite lightly stocked if it only has 6 tetras at the moment, the key to stocking your tank is to stock it very gradually and to keep up on once or more weekly 20-30% water changes with dechlorinator- how long has your tank been set up? Some species of plces and corys are not suited to tanks that aern't very mature.
I don't see a problem with keeping corys and plecs, alot of people keep both together, corys prefer sand or very fine rounded gravel substrate though because they feed by filtering through the substrate on the bottom of the tank- if you still have the choice and want corys but have gravel substrate that doesn't look very suitable for corys, i would change it to sand or put some sand in it  .
