If you want to pick up the blue colours, then a blue coloured light will work best. I haven't tried any different lights, so can't advise on which one, but I don't believe the change of light colour bothers the plants

The colour comes down to the Kelvin rating of the bulb. This won't effect plants, contrary to what you may read. Plants will thrive and adapt to any light given. I use the T5 JBL bulbs for my Juwel as they are cheaper, i use 2 of th Nature bulbs, they are both 9000k and give a crisp white look. It's all down to personal preference though. I wouldn't personally go any higher that 10,000k on a freshwater tank and the 14,000k looks very blue and can distort the colours of a fresh water fish.
