Best Guppy For 2009.

British Livebearer Association (BLA) and Fancyguppy.co.uk
Are this year holding six guppy shows all over the UK.


So if you think you have a special line of guppies and would like to compete through out the year then please let us know or just turn up on the day.
The idea is to at least show 3 times over the year so the points can be averaged. However if you only want to attend one show your be more than welcome, even if you just looking.

  3. Corby - May 10th 2009 - In conjunction with Corby & District 39th Open Show

    Lodge Park Social Club

Guppy League Rules

The competition is for single male guppy.
The final round will be the pairs show at the BLA convention and the judging points will be taken from the male score only.
Tanks will be provided by the participant and must be 7" x 7" at the front and 4" front
to back.
No gravel or plants will be allowed, bottom of the tank to be black.
Judging will be carried out by a 3 judges I.K.G.H. accredited judges and final points
for each entry will be the average of the three judge's scores.
Judging will be IKGH standards.

There will be three classes:

1) Broad tails Fan tail
  1. Triangle tail
  2. Veil tail
  3. Flag tail
2) Sword tails
  1. Double sword
  2. Top sword
  3. Bottom sword
  4. Lyre tail
3) Short tails
  1. Spade tail
  2. Spear tail
  3. Round tail
  4. Pin tail
There is no limit as to how many entries a participant can make
League classes open to non B.L.A. members.

The same fish do not have to be entered at each show.
The guppies MUST have been bred by the participant.
There will be an award for each class and an overall winner.
The league scores will be calculated by taking the total of the entrant's best three show results in each of the three classes.
To compete in the league entries will need to be made in at least three of the six shows however there is no limit as to how many shows a participant can enter.

Participants will remove their fishes ONLY when told to do so by the head judge.
Entries will not be kept by the organizers as with normal IKGH shows.
Entrance fee will be as per the host club fees. If there is no host show there will be no
fee. Any fees collected will be donated to the host club.

General show rules, including start times, will be as per the host show rules. These
details and details where there is no host club will be made available for participants

We can only host at our events (BLA dates) or at existing fish shows how are willing to allow us to put on a guppy show along side their show.
 
AAAh wish youd come to blackpool!



I guess there will be people travelling from all parts of the uk so if you shout out I am sure someone will be going that’s near to you were you can share the cost of transport
maybe someone should start a list of who is going and who wants to go but cant get there
 
Good idea, I'm in bournemouth, Dorset and I'll be going to both Corby, Redditich and Nottingham (Nottingham is fri-sunday) dates if any one want to go. and your on my way what should not be a problem even if i have to hire a bus :) LOL

i will be going from cumbria down to corby 15th march so any one just off m6 is welcome to tag along

Their will be an auction as well at Corby in march but this is BLA member's only so you will need to join to be valid to bid for anything.

Full Member - UK £16.00 To receive Magazines by post.

membership run's from Jan -Jan so if you join now it will only run to Jan 10
