Best Desktop Computer

What do you guys think the best desktop is?
I'm leaning toward a iMac, as that's within my budget, but I'm not sure yet.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
GobyMaster

I was going to say the iMac, but why not a Macbook instead? Then it's portable! They're nearly as good as iMac unless you need the graphics card and extra hard drive space, me I just use externals. I even pulled the HDD out of my Xbox when it died, placed it in an external enclosure and formatted it. I've got an apple airport extreme wireless router so I've got both my external HDD's connected to my home network as well as my printers. I can do anything from anywhere in the house, then back it up and print it too, it's too cool!

Well I love my Macbook, but those iMacs are sweet too! For $1,500 you could have the best spec'd Macbook available and still have some cash in your pocket (you are a student I assume?)

If by student, you mean college, that's a no.
I'm only in 8th grade, but extra money would be good for my college savings account, as I want to get into SCRIPPS, which is pretty the the equivallent of Yale in Marine Biology schools.
I'm probably going to get a Macbook.
Cheers,

A lot of the time you can get a discount through your school district. Shop the education store at apple.com to see if your district qualifies. It's a 105 discount on any of the computers they sell, and a great deal on applecare too!

...and yes you can still run all your video games. Just run WINE or Cedega or Crossover. :good:

Or you can run your videogames on a Mac with the supplied bootcamp software and a copy of XP SP2! Then you still have some great native software!

I respect Linux immensely, but for me (I make money doing photography) I need Photoshop and I want to run it natively and not through an emulator.
