Hello,

I'm looking to get a CO2 system as I've heard they can really help plant growth and you can control your tank ph.

I'm looking to spend around £125-£175. Which is the best CO2 system within this price range?

Cheers,

...

I recently got a D-D pressurised system from AE for £115 and that included a solenoid. the JBL equivalent was quite a bit more.

www.aquatics-online.co.uk sell the D-D kit for £99.99 - spend a further 1p and get free delivery too.

i have used the JBL proflra & Denerle Classic Line (both pressurised 500g bottle kits) and can happily say i now use a fire extinguisher! the end result is EXACTLY the same but the fire extinguisher lasts 4 times as long.

that german kit looks lovely however you will have trouble refilling it. most stores do not refill your bottle they actually swop it with another full one. i can guarantee you wont find any stores in the UK with full bottles of that kind in stock. on top of that it is cheaper to buy a new fire extinguisher than to refill a co2 bottle.
i get mine from HERE

it may not look as pretty but once in a cabinet who would know. just read the thread carefully so you know how to set it up. i have mine set up in the same way and it is running perfectly.

Though it does depend if your cabinet is big enough! My 15-gallon cabinet is way too small to hold a 2kg extinguisher. The D-D refills come in around £19 delivered - for small tanks they'll last a good few months or more.

deffinately would'nt reccomend this opption look at this

i am just say that if you do something wrong with the canister you could loose your head

Fair enough, but thats the case with ANY cylinder surely? Just because we use an FE doesn't means its less safe. If you weren't careful with any pressurised cylinder you'll lose you're head! :) FE's are the same pressure as all the others, around 50bar.

EDIT - I dont understand the relevance of the link?
